9 packages that owners have disabled on the NVIDIA SHIELD TV without breaking it, grouped by what they do. Copy the commands, run them over ADB, and undo any of them with one line.

Stock home screen: com.google.android.tvlauncher
Connecting with ADB: Developer options → turn on Network debugging; that opens ADB on port 5555. The Pro has no cable route. Reserve an IP in your router, since Ethernet and Wi-Fi get different addresses.

Read this first

The SHIELD runs Android TV, not Google TV, so the stock home screen is com.google.android.tvlauncher.
Keep com.google.android.tvrecommendations enabled: without it, the SHIELD TV phone app connects but none of its buttons work.
Never remove Play Services, keychain or com.android.se. People report soft-bricked units after following guides that do.
A SHIELD Experience update can turn packages back on. Run the list again after an update. The 2019 tube and the 2015 and 2017 models run the same software, so this list is a fair starting point for them too.

These were also disabled on the tested device, but each one changes how the TV behaves (casting, the remote's mic, apps you may use, or which screen opens on Home). Only disable them after reading the warnings above.
